After
completion and usage for several years the ST-80 got replaced with a Takahashi
FS-78 for wide field imaging
and the Celestron
Wedge got replaced with an APT wedge since the Celestron
wedge racked slightly.

There are TWO power winches used to move the roof. One
(pictured) is an old one off my boat trailer. The other
is one purchased from
Harbor Freight for $59.00. That one pulls the roof off and the old one pulls it
back. They
seem loud but away from the
observatory the sound doesn't really carry. No one has complained in 15 years.
