Of course, you don’t have to follow these water trails – you’re free to drop a boat in the water and set out on your own Chesapeake Bay kayaking adventure! A short 1\/4 mile walk from our Eastern Shore Bed and Breakfast down to our dock will lead you to complimentary kayaks and the quiet backwaters of our inlet. It’s the perfect place for beginners to get a feel for Chesapeake Bay kayaking – and with such a great diversity of birds, wildlife, and plants right here, that may be all you need! If you want more adventures, the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay will beckon you beyond our quiet, secluded creek.\u00a0<\/p>

If you’re looking for a great water trail for your Chesapeake Bay kayaking adventure, we love the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge Padding Trails<\/a>, a place that has been nicknamed the “Everglades of the North.” Here, there are more than 50 acres of forests, fields, marshes, and open water to explore, and plenty of wildlife to enjoy along the way. There are also several nearby water trails<\/a> for even more Chesapeake Bay Kayaking, including those in and around the Eastern Neck Island Water Trail<\/a>.<\/p>

If you don’t want to go kayaking alone and prefer to travel with a guide, we recommend the local tour company Chester River Kayak Adventures<\/a>. They offer<\/span> guided half-day and sunset tours in the area. You can also rent equipment from them by the hour if you’d rather paddle your own adventure, and you can even rent gear from them to use for the entire week on the water.
